Working Session on Defence and Security Held within the Framework of the Ambassadors’ Conference
On 22 December 2025, a working session entitled “Diplomacy in the Service of National Defence and Security” was held within the framework of the Ambassadors’ Conference.
The discussion was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, and brought together the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani; the Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze; the Minister of Justice, Paata Salia; and the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani. The session was moderated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasha Darsalia.
During the working session, members of the Government addressed key issues related to security and defence policy, the strengthening of defence capabilities, and the importance of cooperation with international partners. The discussion also covered matters concerning public order and border management, migration policy, and the international dimensions of police cooperation.
Participants further discussed cases brought against the Russian Federation before international courts, as well as issues related to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity.
The meeting of heads of Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad - the Ambassadors’ Conference - is being held in Tbilisi from 22 to 25 December.
