New Rules for the employed/self-employed aliens with no permit for permanent residence in Georgia shall enter into force on 1 March 2026.
In accordance with the amendments to the Law on Labour Migration, starting from 1 March 2026, employment of an alien with no permit for permanent residence in Georgia with a local employer and the performance of paid work (including remotely), as well as entrepreneurial/labour activity in Georgia (including partnership, independent contracting or otherwise engaging in entrepreneurial activity/labour activities) of an alien with no permit for permanent residence in Georgia, the purpose of which is to obtain economic benefits, are allowed only after this alien obtains the right to work.
Information regarding mandatory insurance for tourists entering Georgia
In accordance with the Law of Georgia "On Tourism", starting from January 01, 2026 , all tourists entering Georgia are required to hold a valid health and accident insurance policy.
