Working Session on “Culture, Education, Healthcare, and Sport as a Soft Power Platform in Diplomacy” Held within the Framework of the Ambassadors’ Conference
On 23 December 2025, within the framework of the Ambassadors’ Conference, a working session entitled “Culture, Education, Healthcare, and Sport as a Soft Power Platform in Diplomacy” was held. The session was moderated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Khatuna Totladze.
The session was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili. The discussion was attended by the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze; the Minister of Culture, Tinatin Rukhadze; the Minister of Sport, Shalva Gogoladze; and the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Mikheil Sarjveladze.
During the discussion, participants addressed issues related to improving the quality of education and aligning it with international standards, as well as ongoing and planned reforms in the general education sector.
Particular attention was devoted to the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening Georgia’s global positioning and enhancing the visibility of Georgian culture internationally.
Participants of the discussion also reviewed achievements in the field of sport and considered the hosting of international championships in Georgia.
Attention was further focused on reforms implemented in the areas of healthcare and social policy, highlighting their importance for improving public welfare.
Participants of the working session discussed future plans and initiatives and underscored the importance of the active involvement of Georgia’s diplomatic missions in advancing these processes.
The meeting of the heads of Georgia’s diplomatic missions abroad - the Ambassadors’ Conference - is being held in Tbilisi from 22 to 25 December.
