THE NORWEGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER HAS WELCOMED GEORGIA'S FOREIGN POLICY PRIORITIES

During his visit to Norway on 26 April 2024, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bart Eide. The agenda included a comprehensive review of Georgia-Norway relations and collaboration within international frameworks.

Minister Eide reiterated Norway's unwavering support for Georgia's foreign policy objectives. He emphasized Norway's strong backing for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration efforts, a sentiment appreciated by Minister Darchiashvili.

Both parties acknowledged the fruitful cooperation between their countries in bilateral and multilateral spheres, built upon mutual respect and shared interests and values. They discussed the positive trajectory of political dialogue between Georgia and Norway, highlighting the importance of reciprocal high-level visits. Minister Darchiashvili underlined Georgia's eagerness to attain candidate status and reaffirmed the government's commitment to working closely with European institutions for further advancement.

Minister Darchiashvili also briefed Minister Eide on the challenges faced in Georgia's occupied territories and expressed gratitude for Norway's consistent support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
